Lindsay Balkenbush
Hi! Hi! Lindsay here!
I’m a former college soccer player turned HYROX coach. I come from a family of athletes, so sports and competing have always been my life.
After years of chasing a soccer ball, I still craved that feeling of competition and challenge, which led me to HYROX, the perfect mix of running, lifting, and Type-2 fun (you know, the kind that feels terrible in the moment but amazing afterward).
I moved to Boise in January 2024, and I instantly fell in love with the people and the community here. Between coaching HYROX athletes, herding a pack of U6 soccer players, and representing Running for the High of It, a nonprofit run club that believes movement and community are medicine, I’ve found my happy place surrounded by others who love to move, sweat, and laugh together.
I love running and HYROX because it’s always hard, no matter how good you get, there’s always room to improve. But you’ll rarely catch me alone; my favorite part of fitness is the people I get to share it with. Moving my body is how I connect, recharge, and have fun.
Outside of training, I’m a chocolate lover, coffee connoisseur, and Dancing with the Stars superfan (seriously, don’t ask me who my favorite pro is unless you have time for a full analysis).
If you train with me, expect encouragement, energy, a few bad dance moves, and few jokes about how none of us really know what we’re doing, but hey, we’re all in it together.
I can’t wait to see you in class!
