Benjamin Bristow

Yo! Coach Ben in the house!

Marine Corps Veteran, Husband, Father, Ultra Runner, Author, Public Speaker, Business Owner, Coach, Athlete.

These are just a few things that describe me.

Baseball was life! I lived it, breathed it, and dreamt about the day I would go to the show.

Life is funny…

After my last pitch was thrown, I fell out of love with the game I played for so many years. I walked away from the opportunity to play in college because I felt a calling to do something more with my life.

I spent 14 years in the Marines (6 combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan). This is where I first found CrossFit. Military fitness is one thing; CrossFit is a whole other beast. I was hooked from my first class. I loved the community, the methodology, and the way it pushed me to new limits. The human body is an amazing thing. I’ve been in the CrossFit scene since 2010, and have been coaching for 14 years.

I left the Marines in pursuit of opening my own gym here in the Treasure Valley. We affiliated in 2013, grew to one of the largest gyms in the Northwest! Life was good… Enter Kids. After a decade of owning the gym and coaching thousands of members, we sold our gym to buy back time to be home with our kids during the most pivotal years.

These past few years off, I have been fully submerged in the ultra-running scene, completing my first 100-mile race last year, several 50k races, and a 24-hour endurance run. I also just recently finished writing a book to help Veterans find purpose post-service, which has been published and is on Amazon.

However, I have missed coaching; close to 20,000 hours of it has filled my tool belt with the knowledge to help you become the best version of who you want to be. I do not take coaching lightly, I F*&%ING LOVE being a coach! I will push you and inspire you as much or as little as you want me to. I will always see your true potential, even if you do not see it at first. I also have a degree in torture (mobility), IYKYK.
